printing to file through a generic text printer/driver

412968Jan 20 2004 — edited Jan 20 2004
I am trying to get Oracle Report Builder to print to a printer that is set up with a generic text only print drive (print to file). 3-4 years ago a consultant figured out how to do this by changing the Data Model System Parameters, but I cannot remember what we changed. I believe we changed the DESTYPE to printer and I think maybe we changed the DESFORMAT to text, but I am not sure. It is opening a print to file box, but not the right one. All this box is doing to saving the report format from report builder. I am trying to capture the generic text for OptioDCS (form design pkg) mapping of data. What I am trying to get is the print to file box that wants the "Output File Name" where I have to put in the whole path name. This is the same box that I get when I try to print a test page from the printer properties box. Any help would be greatly appreciate. Thank you. Rita
