I am not sure if I am posting in the correct place, but if there somewhere better to post this I will be more than happy to do so.
I am using Primavera P6 version 17 and have read online that after version 8.3.2 the ability to increase the maximum activity ID length above 20 was made functional. I am the Admin for my standalone version and having gone into admin preferences and attempted to increase the 20 character limit I receive the following error: Error "Field 'Id' in Activity may not contain more than 20 characters".
I am hoping someone can tell me a way to increase this limit using the primavera version I have, alternatively what version of primavera P6 do I require in order to be able to increase this limit.
ordinarily I do not use activity ID's this long but it is a client requirement to have a predetermined prefix that makes the character lengths between 21 and 30 characters.
as a note, my company cancelled the support contract many years ago as it was not deemed necessary at the time, so I am currently without support as it stands hence why I cannot go through that avenue to get the help I need.
any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.
