PractitionerRole

Peter O'TooleMar 10 2025

Workflow or API calls:

Is the FHIR PractitionerRole resource supported at all, in either R4 or DSTU2? This is the best practice for retrieving user role information with FHIR, but there is no documentation of this resource.

Another post here asked about getting a list of PractitionerRole resources and it wasn't supported, but what about a single resource linked to a Practitioner, such as:

GET [base]/PractitionerRole?practitioner=Practitioner/123

Please advise if this is supported, and if not, how to obtain user role information with SMART-on-FHIR integrations (ie: CODE program).

Thanks!

Pete
