Since the bug reporting system on virtualbox.org gives me “Bad Request”, I am writing here.
I report a problem that is not (only) technical, but lexical: in the Italian interface of Oracle VirtualBox, during the creation of a new virtual machine, a flaggable option called:
“Skip unattended installation”
The associated behavior is that, if you do not select it, the installation starts in automatic mode, without user input, installing GNOME and creating a default user. This is contrary to what the expression seems to logically suggest.
In my opinion, this is an ambiguous formulation or even the reverse of the real effect, which can confuse even expert users. A clearer label could be:
“Proceed with manual installation”
“Avoid automatic installation”
“Disable unattended mode”
I report it because it made me waste hours — and I don’t think I’m the only one.
Honestly I've already wasted enough time on other people's work, better less and done well
Thanks for your attention.
