Port Conflict Detected

BenSSep 30 2008 — edited Sep 30 2008
I'm working on the WebCenter Framework tutorial Step # 7 "Adding Some Simple Logic to the Portlet". Added the logic and stoped the OC4J server for the tutorial. I then shut down JDeveloper for the evening. When I started it back up I got the "Port Conflict Detected" message. The message asks me if I would like to assign new ports. I'm hesitant to do this but am stuck otherwise. Can someone explain why this is taking place and if I should reassign the ports?

Here is the full message:
Port conflicts have beeen detected, and the affected ports have been automatically reassigned to available ports. Prease see the log window for details. The embedded OC4J server will be started up with these new port assignments. Press OK to continue or cancel to rever port assignments to their original values. If yu cancel, the embedded OC4J server will not be started.

**** HTTP port conflict detected. The HTTP port will be reassigned to port 8989.
