popUp2 vs window.open

Hi guys,

I'm developing popup windows in my app. I see many devs are using window.open function for that. My old apps are using popUp2 function instead. Both work fine, however I haven't found any documentation on popUp2.

The question is what is the differece between these methods and which one is recommended to use?
