POP3 server bug (invalid capabilities string)
807574Mar 10 2006 — edited Feb 11 2020Hello,
System Messaging Server v 6.2-4.02 returns an invalid response to the POP3 CAPA command. The problem is with the IMPLEMENTATION line:
capa
+OK list follows
... valid response lines ...
IMPLEMENTATION MMP-6.2p4.02 Sep 9 2005
.
There are two spaces between "Sep" and "9", this is technically incorrect. RFC 2449 requires exactly one space between CAPA response parameters. We noticed this error while testing our POP proxy with verizon.net's mail server.
Pedanticly yours,
