Polkitd consistently using cpu

kornaxMay 29 2018 — edited Aug 1 2018

Hi, I am new to Oracle linux, although I have had plenty of experience with centos/redhat/debian etc.

I am building up a new environment running OVM, and all of the machines on this environment are running OL7.

For some reason, these servers all seem to have polkitd running.  I understand generally what polkitd is for, however it consistently eats up 15-20% of the CPU on these Virtual Machines.  And I do not understand why.  Is this expected behavior?

Prior to building this environment, i had tested with OL7 on my hyper-v environment.  That server does not seem to have these issues.  And all of the same work has been done on the machines.  The only difference other than the hypervisor, is the kernel version.  The test machine on hyper-v is 4.1.12-103.3.8.el7uek.x86_64 where as the new VM's for production are running 4.1.12-124.14.1.el7uek.x86_64.

Any ideas?  I have seen other posts on the web regarding similar struggles, but cant seem to find a good reason as to how to fix.

Thanks!
