Plugin Registration Fails ("zip does not contain definition of plugin class")

I am trying to register an event-handler plugin using "ant -f pluginregistration.xml register". I am carefully adhering to the prescribed directory structure within the plugin zip file. Still, for different examples, I always get

> oracle.iam.platform.pluginframework.PluginException: The plugin zip does not contain the definition of plugin class ... <

None of the related issues I found on the Internet seems to apply.

Any idea what is wrong here? Or is there a way to get a more meaningful error report?

Zip file plus error message are attached.
