Ping interface on different subnet

807559Aug 10 2007 — edited Aug 31 2007
Hello,

I have a solaris 9 setup. The first interface is IP 10.25.189.39, Subnet mask 255.255.255.128, Gateway 10.25.189.1.

I have ALOM Net MGMT interface setup, IP 10.25.188.40, Subnet mask 255.255.255.128, Gateway 10.25.188.1

I am unable to ping or telnet into the ALOM from Solaris (after the system boots).

From another machine, I can ping both the Solaris 9 interface and ALOM interface.

my /etc/defaultrouter has 10.25.189.1 entry

my /etc/netmasks file has
10.25.189.0 255.255.255.0
10.25.188.0 255.255.255.0

I'm not sure what else I'm missing here. Could some one please help me.
thank you,
Jacob.
