pfiles and init.ora files

Helllo Fellow Forumites,

I am a little bit confused about pfiles and init.ora files.

I know that Oracle uses 3 parameter files - SPfileSID.Ora, spfile.ora used by RAC, then init.ora that is editable. Now my confussion is which of them is pfile , is it init.ora or which one?

Assistance will be highly appreciated.
