Oracle Database Discussions

Hi All,

I have a conceptual question regarding the use of dual table. In a discussion at the office, some people argument that in a large transactional system there could be a resource contention accessing dual table.

Therefore it was suggested as a good programming practices to avoid the use of dual.

I do not think that it is an issue to use dual; dual probably is a table always in memory and catch by the user process....

Opinions? Some body knows any article that has explored this point?
