Performance Tuning on RAC(2 node)
VIRUAug 22 2012 — edited Aug 28 2012Hi,
I am very new to ORACLE 11g R2 RAC environment. I have never worked on RAC before.
My major concern is that, we are having a huge power machine with us but its not performing as expected.
I have a 2 node RAC with storage on EXADATA. 96GB RAM memory on both nodes. SGA is 36GB per node. we are using flashback.
When the end user is running a batch transaction, say a million to 5 million records are INSERTED,UPDATED and DELETED. Here each statement is executing in 500 ms - 600 ms. Each statement should not have take this much time. As far as I have heard about RAC load sharing and EXADATA storage performance. I am expecting a more fast result.
I am quite sure that our RAC configuration is not that proper or tuned up to work for effective results.
CAN ANYONE GUIDE ME , HOW I SHOULD KNOW IF MY RAC IS TUNED OR NOT ??
WHAT STUDY MATERIAL I SHOULD PREFER? (I read a few books, but still not sure how to tune RAC)
WHAT PARAMETERS I SHOULD CHECK ??
I need some trouble shooting guidance to explore my RAC setup and improve it as per.
Thanks in advance.
