Performance issue caused by Dynamic Re-mastering (DRM) in RAC database

oratestAug 1 2014 — edited Feb 3 2018

Hi,

My database version is 11.2.0.2.0 and it's a RAC database, and it's running on Linux OS.

We are facing performance issues, which we observe are caused by DRM feature of RAC. Application face slowness at the same time stamp we find DRM occurring in database.

Has anyone faced any performance issues caused by DRM? If yes then can there be any workaround to solve that issue? I have seen on internet that some people recommend to disable DRM feature, while some says that disabling DRM is not advisable, so I was wonderng that what could be the disadvantage of disabling DRM.

Thanks,

Oratest
