pc Express question

Hello,

I have just inherited a pc Express version 4.0 database that I am trying to connect to. When I launch pcx.exe and try to a connect to my database, I receive the following error:
Database i:\finance\pcx40\data\wfrs\wfrs is incomplete; one or more extension files are missing, cannot be opened, have a size that is not a multiple of 512, or are read-only for a read-write attach.

Has anyone seen this kind of error? I know that the database is not corrupt because I can connect to it using a front end that was designed, however the front end does not give me the options that I need in order to export the data, which is why I am trying to use this approach.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
