I think I'm in a dilemma.....
So we want to run an Export of artifacts but just exclude 'Essbase Data'. Thought was to run this nightly, download it to our servers via EPM Automate. The reason is the two apps we have are combined 56GB and we don't want to deal with the .pag and .ind files. We would just export Lev0 data to text files and zip those up which would be much smaller than the .pag files. However I'm thinking we cannot create a custom "Daily Maintenance" extract and then schedule it? We can only use the Snapshot that happens automatically every night and must include the data?
This is so bad if true. Why would Oracle use the .pag and .ind files as their data backup method and not have option to turn the data part off?
I suppose we could download the Snapshot and unzip it then delete the .pag files and then re-zip it up? That seems like a ton of work. Client wants to keep 60 days backups(2 close cycles), but they don't have unlimited storage space.
Any thoughts?
