Password protection of email attachment

Hi,
I need to send an email attachment which is password protected. i.e. i want to encrypt the file attachment using a user saved pwd, send it in mail and when the user opens the attachment, he should be prompted for a password. Only if he enters the right pwd, should he be allowed to view the doc contents.

any inputs on this will be highly appreciated.
