We have an inherited dataguard configuration --- for which we do not know the SYS password. The logs stopped being transferred some time ago and we would like to rebuild the standby using RMAN. Because the logs are not transferring, changing the password in the primary DOES NOT update the standby --- so , even with copying the password file, we cannot connect to the standby from the primary or RMAN.
Is there a means to change the SYS password in the standby database for rebuild, OTHER THAN to drop the standby and start new??
