Password management function an SYS account

H all,

We implemented the verify_pwd_function and a new secure profile and in this regard, I recall the question being answered but can't find the thread.
Is it true that the SYS account cannot abide by password expiry function , only SYSTEM?

oracle 9.2.0.8
