parsing spreadsheet and uploading data into database.

I refered the example sent by vikas...
N I want to import my spreadsheet data which are under some headings through my front end file browse and upload application and I have the option whether to 'overwrite' the records or 'append' the new records...after clicking the necessary option..I want to import my spread sheet data into the table defined already...and my another requirement is that I want to check the duplication of data between the spreadsheet and table...If I find the duplicates, I have to omit it and store the remaing details....
