Parsing input parameters in pl/sql procedure

Hi,

I am writing the pl/sql procedure in which I need to parse input parameters received from calling program ( i.e java and another pl/sql package/procedure)and override with the database values stored previously in pl/sql table. If anyone has example code for doing this.
Could pl. reply back asap?
