parameter LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST destination string cannot be translated

In my 10g envioment I was making some changes to the archive log file format then restarted the db

When I try and start the Db I get the following error

SQL> startup
ORA-16032: parameter LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST destination string cannot be translated
ORA-07286: sksagdi: cannot obtain device information.
IBM AIX RISC System/6000 Error: 2: No such file or directory
SQL>
