page items not in sync with session state

I', using apex 5.02 and 11g DB.

Below is the sample output, the last 2 items are null but if I go and look at the session variables (see 2nd screen) it has a value

I have dynamic action that sets the value of these 2 items

Code is just a straight assignment from other page items (these would be hidden but displayed as of now so I can see the value, stores the old value)

 :P9007\_REQD\_SEL\_TABLE := :P9007\_REQUIRED;

 :P9007\_REQD\_SEL\_TYPE := :P9007\_REQD\_TYPE;

It looks good I think but I must be missing something, thanks!
