P2V a red hat running oracle database into oracle vm

2659678Apr 23 2014 — edited Apr 23 2014

Hi all,

I have a red hat 5 running oracle database, with the database being stored in some LUNS.

I want to p2v the machine, and after that, connect the luns to the vm as if it was the physical machine.

I managed to convert the machine, and then i added the luns as physical disks to the virtual machine, but for some reason the system cant find those luns. I already installed a red hat 5 just to add the luns, and on that machine i can see them.

So my questions are if it is possible to convert the machine on that way or not, or what i am doing wrong. If its not possible, how would you suggest to do it?

Thanks in advance

Tiago
