have a couple of oracle vm servers with ovm manager as vm on host1. have 12 vm's on servers in total working fine. but now i can get logged into admin console web front end. i have tried putty direct to ovm vm but the root passwd ain't working either.
How do i reset the admin password without access to ovm virtual?
can i do anything from the hosts? as i can access them just fine. I was going to reboot host as that might sort out the error message appearing when loggin in as it's not saying that the password is wrong, at least if i can get to ovm admin page, i can access single user mode to change root password it via console.
here is the error:
Unexpected error during login (java.lang.NullPointerException), please consult logs for details.
question though can i stop vm's running from host? as you are supposed to shut them down before rebooting host or put into maintenance mode? or am i stuck and just have to reboot host and see what happens?
not sure what to do...
