OVM 3.4.4 mirroring 2 x 10TB disk

User34793874May 3 2018 — edited Aug 22 2018

HI,

I have 2 x 10TB disk in a new X7-2L. Unfortunately the HBA card doesn't support RAID.

So we need to use lvm to mirror the 2 root disk at the OS level.

I cannot find any document on creating the mirror for the OVM root disk.

Is it possible to do it? Is it supported in OVM?

The disks are 10TB and i know it is an overkill.

What is the maximum size disk that OVM is able to support?

I have read somewhere that MBR supports up to 2TB and we need to use GPT for disk larger than 2TB.

I tried to install the OVM without changing anything and i am able to see 9+TB as free space during the installation phase.

Does this mean that OVM automatically converts it to GPT?

If we proceed to install it, is it the right way?

Thank you
