Overall architecture of Cerner Dev Environments

Muthu RajagopalanMay 17 2023 — edited Mar 8 2024

Hi,

I am new to Cerner. Want to understand the overall architecture of Cerner Dev Environments.

I have joined in a new project which is based on Cerner and Salesforce. Our goal is to show records from Cerner in Salesforce box.

I heard about two dev orgs - One is my customer's Cerner Dev Box and the other is Cerner Global Dev Box (Any one can get access to this). I have access to Cerner Global Dev Box.

But I need to understand more about

  • User (Developer)
    • Account User Id
  • Application
    • Application Id
    • Client Id
    • Account Id
    • Secret
  • Cerner Global Dev Box
  • Cerner Customer Dev Box

How are they all connected?

  1. Do I need to have two user accounts? One for Cerner Global Box and one for Cerner Customer Dev Box?
  2. How are the applications are connected in terms of Users? How can I group of users access one application?
  3. How are the applications are connected between orgs (dev or and production org)?
  4. In order to access Cerner from an external application through API - do I need an Application? If so, what kind of coding (other than authentication) need to be done in code.cerner.org?

Anything helps.

Thanks & Regards

Muthu
