Outside In: PDF Export Highlights

I would like to export documents to PDF format using outside in and add comments\sticky notes to those pdfs.

Found "addAreaHighlight(HighlightAreaAnnotation areaAnno, java.lang.String comment)" on the OIT docs but this is just highlighting text and does not add a comment on to the exported PDF.

Has anyone worked with addtexthighlights? Does anyone have an idea how this functionality can be achieved?
