OUI not launching in Windows Server 2008 R2

Hi all,

I managed to install SQL Server 2008 (64-bit) on my work server and created a linked Oracle server in Database Management Studio and ran scripts from it with success. However at the time I had a 32-bit Oracle Instant Client and when trying to connect Oracle through BIDS I got a BadImageFormatException error. I then realised I needed a 64-bit client for my 64-bit Windows Server 2008 R2.

Now, I downloaded the 64-bit client onto my local drive and unzipped it on the server's C drive. However, when I click to launch OUI, I just get a the message saying 'Preparing to launch Oracle Universal Installer......'

But nothing happens. The MS-DOS window closes and thats it. Nothing. I thought the file didn't unzip properly so I unzipped a 32-bit client onto the server and its launched just fine!

Any ideas? Ideally I just want to get SSRS working on on Windows Server 64 bit but feel without the 64-bit Oracle Client this will prove unsuccessful.

Thanks,

Brian
