OTN vs. EDelivery
I'm trying to understand, when there are packaging differences between OTN and EDelivery for the same version of the software on the same platform, can I assume that the differences really are only packaging (e.g many smaller ZIPs vs one big one) or could there be other differences as well?
Example is OBIEE 10.1.3.3.2 for Linux.
OTN offers up a single-file RedHat download and a single-file SuSE download:
http://download.oracle.com/otn/linux/ias/101332/biee_linux_x86_redhat_101332_disk1.cpio
http://download.oracle.com/otn/linux/ias/101332/biee_linux_x86_SUSE_101332_disk1.cpio
EDelivery offers up essentially a 5-part download for the two releases combined:
http://edelivery.oracle.com/EPD/Download/get_form?egroup_aru_number=9149014
I want to assume that these downloads are equivalent, but that seems like a risky thing to assume... does anyone have some guidance? This is just one example... I've been the same for the DB stack, Grid Control, OAS, and other components over the last few years. (For production use I always pick EDelivery assuming it offers up some greater traceability on Oracle's part should that ever be needed.)
