Orphaned Listener.log File from failed install...can't remove
534173Sep 17 2006 — edited Sep 22 2006I tried several times to install 10g XE, each time the installation appeared to be successful but when I would tried to start I'd get an error, by comparing another machine's setup I realized that all the services weren't being setup properly. I was trying to install on XP Media Center, which I thought might be the problem and also trying to install to the D:\ drive rather than C:\. Finally, I did an un-install, I was informed that the uninstall was successful but that some files could not be removed and must be removed manually, I'd seen this type of message before with other software so I ignored it and then re-installed XE to the C: drive, the installation was successful and I can start and use the database.
The problem is I still have the original listener.log file on the D: drive along with the empty folder structures down to it that the unistall program was unable to delete, and neither can I. There is another listener.log file on the C: and I can't delete it either and that's okay (because I asume I need it for the successful install I know have on C:) but how do I delete the listener.log file from the failed installation on the D:\?
