Orion I/O calibrate tool

lphadkeSep 2 2015 — edited Sep 2 2015

Hello,

Can Orion tool be used to check disk IO in an environment where there is virtualization? I have a database on AIX LPAR which is connected to a VIO (Virtual IO server) which handles the IO paths to the EMC VMAX. When I ran a test case for one filesystem I got the following error message -

TEST START

Point 1 (small=0, large=0) of 8
Valid small 1 Valid large 1
Valid

Error identifying file /txndata01 (storax_skgfr_openfiles:skgfifi)
ORA-27037: see Oracle documentation for information on error
Additional information: 5
storax_openfiles: failure in open:
lun_openvols:storax_openfiles failed file=/txndata01, count=1, size=268922240
rwbase_lio_init_luns: lun_openvols failed
rwbase_rwluns: rwbase_lio_init_luns failed
orion_thread_main:rwbase_rwluns failed
Point 2 (small=1, large=0) of 8
Valid small -2 Valid large 1

I tried orion command using the logical volume name too and got the same error message

Thanks

Lalita
