ORDS 23.3 + ICAP

Alex81May 21 2024 — edited Jun 17 2024

Hello fellow Oracle experts ;-)

As this is about ORDS (and APEX), @carsten-czarski-oracle or @thatjeffsmith-oracle might be “interested” in helping out?!

We successfully tested APEX/ORDS in conjunction with C-ICAP+ClamAV for testing files being uploaded in APEX (thru file upload dialog). Now, we're running a Skyhigh Security Appliance within our company's network (I guess AV must be McAfee), so we decided to use that with its ICAP feature.

Unfortunately, ORDS/AEPX seems to get back a HTTP 200 in the end when trying an EICAR test virus. The same file results as HTTP 400 (with text “File is infected”) with the prior setup (C-ICAP+ClamAV).

We really want to avoid having 2 ways/tools to have stuff AV checked, so is there any way to get that Skyhigh/McAfee ICAP stuff working with APEX/ORDS?!

Thanks in advance & kind regards

Alex
