oranl11.dll went missing...causes an error in restarting

After a reboot, I am getting an error: "The application has failed to start because oranl11.dll was not found." We're running 11g.

This appears to be a java error.

The solution in the dialog box is to "reinstall the application".

I really don't want to do that untill I understand a little better what might have caused the problem.

Any ideas why the oranl11.dll would have disappeared (google was no help and I didn't find a reference when searching the forum)? And any work-arounds that don't involve a reinstall?
