Does anyone know about oracleasm causes kernel crash while configuring it?
I have oracle linux support fot 99$ and I can install and download latest updates.
While am trying to configure oracleasm my system goes down and without hardware reset it is not possible to use system again.
oracleasm configure output:
[root@www ~]# /etc/init.d/oracleasm configure
Configuring the Oracle ASM library driver.
This will configure the on-boot properties of the Oracle ASM library
driver. The following questions will determine whether the driver is
loaded on boot and what permissions it will have. The current values
will be shown in brackets ('[]'). Hitting <ENTER> without typing an
answer will keep that current value. Ctrl-C will abort.

Scanning the system for Oracle ASMLib disks:
On scanning kernel goes in panic. I have default install of oracle linux with all the packages and services running.
I have such a kernel:
[root@www ~]# uname -r
2.6.32-200.23.1.el5uek
Kernel kernel-uek-2.6.32-300.4.1.el5uek also goes down while scanning.
I think that for kernel-uek-2.6.32-100 it will the same problem.
2.6.18 I can't use because of Oracle DB.
So I read already all the forums and docs and installed oracleasmlib oracleasmlib-2.0.4-1.el5.x86_64.rpm, oracleasm-support.x86_64 and I still did solve this problem.
I would appreciate any help. Oracle Linux Basic support for $1k will be possible to purchase just in 5 days.
Thanks in advance.
