oracle9i vs oracle 10g

hi guys

we all know in oracle 9i i stands for internet which has inbuit jvm and also support xml and oracle10g g stands for

grid computing which provide resource sharing and automatic load balancing .

I want clear cut and basic explanation for i and grid computing

And also in old version of oracle 8 how they are used to communicate via internet...

sorry if my question is bizarre
