Oracle VM Server and EMC PowerPath: possible?

363459Aug 1 2008 — edited Feb 24 2009
"Oracle VM" needs a lot of storage: for ISO's, for virtual machines, some shared disks. So management offered me some extra SAN-storage on EMC-devices.

Now, has anyone here been successful with installing EMC PowerPath on an Oracle VM Server?

If YES, how has this been done (since there's no official package from EMC as far as I know)?
If NO, is there any other way to connect SAN-disks, type EMC Symmetrix to the OVS? E.g. has anyone here got this working with "multipath" or is there any other way?
I have come as far as "Dynamically rescanning FCP ports if a fabric change occured", about halfway in this document

http://wiki.oracle.com/page/Oracle+VM+Server+Configuration-multipathedSAN+storage

but after the part / command "echo "---" to /proc/../scan I'm lost.

For the time being I've gone back from "Oracle VM" to "Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5", for which PowerPath is available...
