Oracle VM installation on mirror

msmcknightDec 9 2016 — edited Feb 4 2017

Hi everyone,

I have a server that I'm building as an Oracle VM x86 3.4.2 host and it has two 2TB drives in it.  I will be using these same drives for the repository and virtual machines disk storage.  I am able to get the system installed and configured when using one drive, but I cannot figure out how to mirror them.  I want my VM Server OS as well as my machine definitions and disk images protected from a disk crash and would like to mirror the drives.

For the life of me, I cannot get OVM to cooperate.  I've tried creating LVM on the disk during the install but everytime it gets to the disk definition screen, it insists on using a physical device (ie /dev/sda) instead of the volume group I have created, and then it wipes out the partition table and undoes the LVM configuration altogether.

If anyone knows how to use LVM as part of the VM Server installation, please share your insight.

Thank you,

-Michael
