Oracle Vm for X86 and hardware partitioning

1012303Jul 7 2014 — edited Aug 7 2014

Dear All,

looking for few details.

I'm planning to host oracle EBS in x86 platform and for virtualization I would like to use oracle vm for x86

I would like to know the below details.

1. planning for 2 production servers in cluster mode. each server is having 4 CPU x 10 core each = 40 core.
I would like to achieve hard partitioning  in x86 environment and RAC cluster at DB level, is it possible?

for EBS app ( finance, iproc,GL,HR), for a 500 user base what will be the generally recommended vCPU settings, should I assign 16  core or so for EBS?

2. What are the challenges in using OVM for x86 ? I will extending the services to DR to achieve business continuity, is there any challenges ?

Regards,

Binoy
