oracle: unrecognized service

Hi All

I've just installed oracle on OEL5 and having troubles in setting it as a service.

I've created a script and using it to start it but i'm getting an error

[root@olldapwa1 /]# service oracle start
oracle: unrecognized service

but when i do sh /etc/init.d/oracle start

it starts correclty

Can someone please help.
