Oracle Unix Distributed Lock Manager

Dear all,

I am new to Oracle and being research for installing and managing Oracle RAC.

I see that when using Sun Cluster 3.2 with Oracle RAC, I have to install the ORCLudlm package. So my questions are:

- What is Oracle UDLM ?
- What is its role in Oracle RAC?
- What actually does it do in a RAC environment?
