Oracle Standard edition 2 (SE2) Licensing

MileKFeb 18 2016 — edited Feb 23 2016

Hi all.

I need some clarification in regards to db licensing with Named User Plus (NUP) metrics.

According to article:

https://blogs.oracle.com/UPGRADE/entry/oracle_12_1_0_22

The minimums when licensing by Named User Plus (NUP) metric are 10 NUP licenses per server.

Recently I had discussion with colleague which was advised through partnership program that minimum is 10 NUP per processor.

The best way to get answer is probably through some scenario.

E.g. how many licenses would be needed in next scenarios:

1.VMware cluster with 2 x 2socket server. PROD and TEST database installed

2.VMware cluster with 4 x 2socket server. PROD and TEST database installed.

Is this different if there is specific application license usage type involved.

Thanks,
