Oracle service fails automatically

I have been using oracle 10 g in my .net application for 2 years .When i open the oracle page it service gets failed and show the message 'Page cannot be displayed'.Then i do restart my oracle service and work with it.Why the Oracle service stops automatically?can any one suggest?

When i check the system log file it is showing the error of 'The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( OracleServicexe ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: OracleServicexe error: 183, CreateMutex.'

Note:I have been taking oracle folder back ups.Will this affect the service at any cost?
