Oracle Server Hangs

32800Dec 18 2006 — edited Dec 18 2006
Hi All,

We have an Oracle Server with 10.1.0.2 version on below give OS.
# uname -a
Linux SRVBDD 2.4.21-27.ELsmp #1 SMP Wed Dec 1 21:59:02 EST 2004 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
Frequently we are facing a problem like, the system hangs without any errors written to the log files in system logs and oracle logs.

The above problem is occured on HP DL740 machine which is placed in remote location. It has 14 GB of RAM. We checked the the memory usage and the init parameters of the database. but paramters looks fine.

When the database hangs, if we try to connect from any Oracle Client (Sqlplus), it wont connect and stays as it is.

Please tell me what could be wrong?

Thanks
Praveen
