Oracle RAC unstable, Memory issue?

925371Mar 27 2012 — edited Mar 28 2012
Hi,

I have Oracle Installation with the following setting:

Oracle Client :9.2.0.1.0
Oracle 11.1.0.6.0

Machine : DL 360 G6
Disk Cluster : MSA 1000

RAM 4GB

the other system is the following:

Oracle Client : 11.2.0.1.0
Oracle 11.1.0.7.0

Machine:

DL 360 G7, dual processor, quad core
RAM 6GB (default)
Disk Cluster : HP MSA P 2000

we found that the Oracle RAC is unstable and it seems related with memory setting. we have tried to put /3GB on the boot.ini file to make sure that oracle get more than 2GB to run, however it seems the issue still there. I need your advise on the recommendation what is the memory setting recommended for windows 2003 Enterprise edition 32 bit, by default boot.ini file come wiht /PAE, so we can read all the memory installed, but i understood that without addding /3GB, it means the oracle will utilize 2GB only, correct me if i am wrong.

Thanks,

Agus
