We are upgrading our environment from Oracle 11g EE on Windows server 2008r2 to 12c, and as part of that migration path I would like to know if we should also upgrade to Windows 2012r2. I have not been able to find a performance comparison between the two different versions of Windows Server. At this time my management team has decided that we will not be moving off of the Windows platform, so changing to Unix/Linux is not an option. More details: we are using VMware on Intel Xeon CPU E5-2643 with plenty of memory to spare.
