oracle on Vista

457723Sep 2 2007 — edited Sep 3 2007
Well I am trying to install Oracle on new Vista laptop (my previous thread was 2021135 - but there is some problems as only - as I know - only DB 10g is available for Vista and no AS or JDeveloper and so on.

Well - I am trying simply to change install/oraparam settings, that installation supports Windows 6.0 as well and then SOA suita installation, e.g., proceeds without problems. Well - actually - I had no DB installed before SOA installation and therefore configuration failed during the web services configuration - error message was that some server cann't be started and besides - there were reports about failure of SQL's during web services configurations.

So the questionas are:
1) from experience - do the Oracle products work on Vista (except DB 10g - Vista installation is available for it) with the correction of oraparam befor installation?

2) my Oracle SOA AS installation failed during web services configuration phase. Should I have DB already installed before AS installation (installation was automatically named as for Oracle lite)? Can I retry configuration once more e.g. from Oracle Universal Installer Program that ships with SOA suite? What is SSO user name for administrator - as I know - ias_admin...

Thanks in advance!
