Oracle on Linus Vs Oracle on Solaris

Hi,

During planning phase, we have an option to choose linux or solaris. We would like to know which option is cost effective, initially as well as during maintenance?

If there are any articles which explains advantages of Linus vs solaris or Solaris Vs Linux, please let me know.
