Oracle mixed authentication

Hi, my questions is following: is it possible to configure database authentication for end users via LDAP, but authentication for application via password without using LDAP?? I have about 50 DBs and i want end users to use their domain credentials to access database, but i also want applications to avoid using LDAP and user username/password stored in DB. Some ideas which direction to follow are greatly appreciated.
