oracle linux mgmr, spacewalk config for various OS versions

dbsmithUSAMar 29 2023

I was able to get spacewalk v2.10 running oracle 19c, then I configured channels for oraclnx 7,8 and 9 then I got two clients registered. My question is how does OLM know what rpms are for what OS version since my rhn.conf file shows mount_point = /var/satellite? I looked under here and its /var/satellite/redhat/1/[a-z,0-9]*/ and ../redhat/1/stage/

so as a test I changed the mount_point to be

mount_point_oralnxB7 = /var/satellite/ol7_u9base
mount_point_oralnxU7 = /var/satellite/ol7_latest
then restarted spacewalk services. It came up fine, now the webgui is showing /pub/ so apparently it defaulted back to pub? Next I ran a sync using

/usr/bin/spacewalk-repo-sync --channel oralx-7 --type yum --sync-kickstart

Its not populating where I was hoping, in /var/satellite/ol7_latest or in ../ol7_u9base

Is this possibel to do? Or is it not necessary? I did not see this anywhere in the documentation. How does OLM know when a client upgrade is scheduled what rpms push out if they are all in this one directory ../redhat/1/stage?

thank you!
